Taking on the One Article Per Day Challenge

An unusual thing for me

I’ve been a reader on Medium for a very short while now, and I’m constantly impressed by writers who are able to publish high-quality content on a daily basis. Posts by prolific creators like ASAD EDUCATE have inspired me to take on a writing challenge of my own — to write and publish one article every day for the next 30 days.

While I don’t expect to suddenly be churning out Hemingway-level work each day, I do hope this challenge will help me build momentum and consistency with my writing. As someone who doesn’t consider myself to be a natural writer, I know that the only way for me to improve is to practice regularly.

My goal isn’t necessarily to write viral posts that get thousands of views. This is more about developing writing endurance and the ability to produce content regularly. I see it as being similar to running — even a short jog each day is better than running a marathon one weekend and then not running again for weeks.

I also think writing every day will help spark my creativity and idea generation. The more I write, the more writing ideas will (hopefully) come to me. Getting into a daily writing habit will force me to continually think of new topics and angles to write about as well.
